On the General options tab you will find the following settings.
Notification Interval Default: 15 minutes Range: 1 – 120 minutes |
This setting allows you to configure how frequently to notify the recipients configured for a particular Monitored Event. The default setting is 15 minutes. This means that the EMS will only generate notifications no more frequently then every 15 minutes for a single Monitored Event. For example, lets say you have two Monitored Events configured: All Unity Errors and CiscoUnity_Miu (526). A CiscoUnity_Notifier (1234) event is written to the event log at 8:15am. The EMS checks the database and notifies all devices active for the All Unity Errors event also at 8:15am. At 8:20am a CiscoUnity_Miu (526) event is detected. Again the EMS checks the database and notifies the devices active for the CiscoUnity_Miu (526) event but this time the devices active for the All Unity Errors will not be notified. The All Unity Errors devices are not notified because the last notification to these devices occurred within the Notification Interval setting. At 8:36am another CiscoUnity_Miu (526) event comes in and all devices for both Monitored Events will be notified because the last notifications occurred outside of the Notification Interval. |
Eventlog Polling Interval Default: 2 seconds Range: 2 – 60 seconds |
This setting configures how frequently the CsEmsSvc service polls the event log for new events. |
Report Data Aging Default: 14 days Range: 1 – 31 days |
This setting determines how many days of notification logs to retain. |
Warn user before creating a duplicate monitored event |
Checking this setting will cause a confirmation dialog box to be displayed anytime some goes to create a new monitored event that matches an existing event in both the Event Source and Id. |
Enable maximum diagnostics for the CsEmsSvc service. |
Checking this setting and restarting the CsEmsSvc service will cause the CsEmsSvc service to log maximum diagnostic information to its error log. This is useful for troubleshooting problems with the service. |
