The BulkEdit Utility is designed to allow you to select large numbers of call handlers or subscribers and make changes to them in bulk quickly and easily.  Nearly every value you can see and edit via the SA is available to change en mass using BulkEdit as well as a few items not visible in the SA.

The tool is designed as a wizard that walks you through 4 steps:

  1. Choose to edit call handlers or subscribers.  Since the properties available on each are so different, the selection made on the main form here will take you down a different path with different options.  This latest version allows you to select the various subscriber types including AMIS, SMTP (Internet), Bridge or VPIM subscribers as well as “full” subscribers.
  2. Select which subscribers or call handlers you want to edit.  You can select to edit all of them or filter them based on extension number, COS membership, DL membership, pull from a CSV file etc… The details of which options are available and how they work are covered below.
  3. Select which changes you want to make.  There are tabs for each of the pages available on the subscribers or call handlers page in the SA that contains a list of fields that you can force a value for.   You can change as many items in one shot as you like.
  4. Apply the changes.  A progress bar will show you how far along the process is and a dialog will come up telling you when its complete.

When youre done you can review the output log automatically and look for errors that may have been reported etc…  A new log file is created in the \logs folder under the BulkEdit installation directory each time you run the tool.

NOTE: There is no “undo” option for BulkEdit.  Any changes you make using this tool are made for good.  Please make sure you understand the options your are selecting and try it first on a test subscriber or call handler first before applying the changes to large numbers of objects!
