In this step you need to populate the grid with a list of subscribers you want to edit.  You can add as many subscribers to this grid as you want, however you can only use one selection criteria per run.  When you select to, say, add all subscribers from a class of service it will clear the grid before adding the new users.  This is a change from previous versions that allowed you to “merge” multiple searches into the grid.  For large databases this proved to be a very big performance drag so it was removed. 

 

Once you have users in the grid you can sort the grid columns or move the columns around any way you like.  You can individually select/unselect users using the checkbox in the far left column.  Only users that have the check mark on will be edited with the changes you select in the next step.  You can use the “deSelect All” button to uncheck all the users in the grid and the “Select All” button to check all the users in the grid.  If you opt to add a large number of users to the grid, be patient.  The updates on the grid are turned off to speed the process up, it may take a minute or two to populate the grid and then updates are turned back on and you can see your users.

 

You can add subscribers to the grid using the options at the top of the form in the drop down list box:

 

• All subscribers – This adds all the subscribers associated with the local Unity server into the grid.  If you have a lot of users on your system this may take a minute or two to populate the grid.
• Subscribers with extension numbers – Enter a lower and an upper extension range and all subscribers that have primary extensions in that range will be added to the grid.  This includes both primary and alternate extensions in the search.  
• All subscribers in this public distribution list – Hit the “browse” button and select a public distribution list in the resulting dialog.  All subscriber associated with the local Unity server that are members of that distribution list will be added to the grid.
• All subscribers in this class of service – Hit the “browse’ button and select a class of service in the resulting dialog.  All subscribers associated with that class of service will be added to the grid.
• All subscribers associated with this switch – In a multiple switch configuration you can select a switch in the drop down list and all subscribers associated with that switch will be added to the grid.  The switches offered in the drop down are pulled from the registry so if you’ve already removed the 2nd switch configuration via the SA, the old switch name will still appear in the drop down list.  This can be handy if you forgot to assign all your subscribers/handlers over to your new primary switch if you’re going form a multiple switch to a single switch configuration.  NOTE: The drop down list is populated with the switch file name (i.e. “CISCO002.INI”) not the display name you see in the SA.
• All subscribers referenced in this CSV file- You can load subscribers into the grid using a CSV file that’s populated with the Alias and/or the extension numbers of the subscribers you want to edit.  The details of the CSV file format requirements are covered in the next section.
• All subscribers homed on this mail server.  The drop down list to the right of this option allows you to select one of the message stores Unity “sees” that has at least one subscriber homed on it.  Selecting this will include all subscribers homed on that mailstore in the grid.
• All subscribers associated with this remote node ID.  The drop down list to the right of this option shows all the remote node Id values seen in the database if you’re Unity server is connected to a Cisco Unity Bridge server talking to an Octel network.  You can select a node ID from the list and include all subscribers on the local server that were moved over from that node in Octel to the local Unity server.
• All subscribers associated with this delivery location.  If you’ve selected Bridge, AMIS or VPIM subscribers this option will be available and will allow you to select all subscribers associated with a particular delivery location object.  A drop down list will be provided that contains only local delivery locations of the type you selected on the main form (AMIS, VPIM or Bridge).
