How to import events from the Event Viewer

You can easily create a monitored event based on an event you have found in the Windows event log using the following steps.

Open the Windows Event Viewer and double click on the event you are interested in monitoring.
Select the Copy button.
Go over to the Add New Event dialog and select the Import Event From Clipboard button.

This will take the event information from the clipboard and populate the Source, Id and Type for you. Add your notes and change the Content if desired and click OK to finish.
